Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of Brix (getbrix.net). By using the site or buying something from us, you agree to them. Last updated: October 14, 2026.

    What Brix is

Brix reads NYC housing data — HPD complaints and violations, DOB filings, 311 calls, ACRIS ownership filings, and DHCR rent records — and presents it in plain English, alongside scores we compute ourselves.

    What Brix is not

    • Building and landlord scores are computed estimates, not facts or guarantees. City data can lag, contain errors, or be incomplete.
    • Nothing on Brix is legal, financial, or professional advice. For a dispute with your landlord, talk to a lawyer or a tenant organization.
    • Always verify what matters to you against the city's own sources before acting on it.

    Paid reports and monitoring

    • One-off building reports are a single charge, delivered to your email and unlocked on the site.
    • Portfolio monitoring: $1 per apartment per month, less at volume · $50 minimum. Your calculator and Stripe Checkout show your portfolio's actual monthly total. First month free, with a card required; the first charge follows the 30-day trial. The subscription then renews monthly. You can cancel any time online — cancellation stops future charges and your monitoring stays active until the end of the paid month.
    • Portfolio monitoring pays for private tracking, briefings and alerts. Payment never changes a building's score, ranking, city-record facts, public visibility or how corrections are handled. Building lookups and corrections stay free.
    • If a paid report or alert fails to deliver because of a problem on our side, contact us and we'll fix it or refund you.
    • Promo codes must be used as offered and can't be exchanged for cash.

    Using the site

    • Don't scrape the site in bulk, resell Brix data or reports, or present Brix scores as your own.
    • Don't use Brix to harass anyone or to make decisions covered by fair-housing or tenant-screening law without following that law.
    • If you send us a story or correction, you confirm it's true to the best of your knowledge and you're OK with us reviewing it for publication.

    Liability

We work hard to keep Brix accurate and available, but the site is provided "as is." To the extent the law allows, Brix isn't liable for losses that come from relying on the site, from data errors, or from downtime. Nothing here limits rights you have that can't be limited by contract.

    Changes and contact

If we change these terms we'll update the date above. Questions, corrections, or refund requests: hello@getbrix.net.
