1153 Hoe Avenue, Bronx

Long-held three-family home on a block shaped by heavy curb friction and persistent street-level complaints.

A 1901 three-family house with long-standing family ownership ties dating back to 1972. While operational filings against the house itself are thin, the surrounding blockface sees heavy curb friction and indoor air quality calls. Three things to know:

Driveway blockages and sidewalk parking dominate the surrounding streets. Over the last year, 129 blocked driveway calls and 128 illegal parking reports were logged within three blocks. The trouble centers on complete driveway blockages and blocked sidewalks rather than overnight commercial storage.

Nearby air quality complaints suggest potential ventilation or riser drift. Four indoor air quality calls were recorded within three blocks over the last year, with the most recent logged August 7, 2026. Vapor or ventilation drift through shared risers and shafts is impossible to spot during a quick walk-through.

Quieter signals on this building and the blocks around it:

• Deed transfers trace continuous family ownership back to 1972.
• 111 residential noise complaints were logged within three blocks over the last year.
• 29 illegal dumping calls were recorded within three blocks over the trailing 12 months.
